Synopsis
Students learn how communities in Puerto Rico are solving their energy problems and participate in a role-play activity.
Inquire: Students share what they know about Puerto Rico and learn about the impact of hurricanes on the island.
Investigate: Students watch a video about how Puerto Rico is solving their energy and climate change challenges and complete comprehension activities.
Inspire: Students create and present a poster to advocate for the best type of renewable energy for a specific region of the United States.

Lorissa Clark holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from The College of New Jersey and a Master of Arts in English as a Second Language and Bilingual Education from the American College of Education. She has been teaching since 2006 and has 20 years of experience teaching Spanish and English as a Second Language to students in grades K–12. Lorissa holds K–12 teaching certifications in Spanish and English as a Second Language and has extensive experience designing curriculum, integrating technology into instruction, and supporting educators through professional development.
